lake simcoe / kemp bay ice.

Just wondering if anybody knows the ice conditions on the bay from big bay point to shanty bay.

I dont think its ready,you may want to stay shallow for safety reasons.

Ice at shanty bay is very good now  > 6"  - black

There is about 6-7" of ice in the BBP and Shanty Bay area  BUT there is about 8" of water/slush on top and then 12" of snow on top of that!!!

Travel conditions can't get any worse

Wow thanks for the info Sport and Clam  ..   In this cold it must mean Jagged mess....   I wonder what the stairs down from the mail boxes will be , neck breakers..   At best it is no hut time.

Travel conditions have improved big time!!  There are some deep snow drifts but the wind has swpt a lot of the snow and most of the slush has tightened up.

Not sure what will happen if we get the forecasted rain.
