Name and address or license number on portable
«

I have been out of the loop for years and was wondering if you put your name, address or your license number on your house. I just bought an Otter Lodge and it has a sleeve to put the info in, but what do most of you use to put it on. Any neat tricks or do ya just throw it on a piece of cardboard with a permanent marker?

Here it is, exactly as worded in your fishing reg book.
All shelters, which include dark houses, fish houses, and portable
shelters, placed on the ice of Minnesota waters must have the
complete name and address or driver’s license number or Minnesota
DNR number of the owner plainly and legibly displayed on the
outside in letters, and figures at least 2 inches in height. Dark houses,
fish houses, and portable shelters placed on the ice for shelter while
fishing must be licensed, except that a license is not required on
border waters with Wisconsin, Iowa, North and South Dakota. A
tag, fur nished with the license, must be attached to the exterior in a
readily visible location.

Here's the Minnesota DNR link. There's one for shelters too.

We should be out on the ice in the TC area soon. Sweet.

I read the regs and the question was not what the reg say or how to meet the requirement. I was just wondering if most use the address option or the DL# option and if there is an advantage of one or the other. I am also curious how you put the address or DL# on your portable. Last time I was Ice fishing we built our houses from wood and painted our name on the wall.
PS Thanks for the link cityfishin, I'll check it out.

Clamcorp has a nice sleeve for their portables.

@ plastic rivet type snaps to fasten it to the canvas of your portable.
I have my drivers licens on mine. But see the value of having my DNR number instead on permanent shacks.

I would go with the DL # that way if someone hears that you are catching fish it is harder for people to find you but if you name is on the house that just makes it easy.

I have my name and city/state on it. I bought a piece of canvas and used yellow spray paint to put the letters on the canvas. Then I sewed the canvas to the back of my Eskimo QFII. That way if I buy a different portable I can just take it off and put it on the new portable. If I sell my old one the new owner doesn't have to worry about covering up my name.
Also I want my name on it so that when I fish on lakes in different areas people will know who I am when I catch all their fish.
