Anyone use the fishing buddy with side finder. I have 2 older ones that are great for ice fishing. Just wondering what the newer models are like.

They should work the same or a little better than the old ones as Humminbird bought them a few years back.

I have te 120 model with the sidefinder. I love it. Picks up fish and depth very well. Still can't say I have it completely dialed in as I have caught a lot of perch right off the bottom that my finder didn't show me until I was reeling them in. I bring a milk crate along in my sled and clamp the finder to the crate to keep it in my hole or a second hole drilled right next to my fishing hole. The side finder works great and I use it a lot when drilling multiple holes to bounce around to and from. Tells you distances the fish are away from ya. I enjoy having it and especially for a reasonably priced finder for ice fishing.

I've never seen these reliably work. I guess I don't see the point in knowing what distance the fish are away from you. There could be a hundred fish 75' feet away but what value is that? I'd want to know when they are right below the hole I'm fishing.

That's how you find them, go over 75' pop in a hole over them and start catchin.       ;)2

Yea they show the fish under ya but you can also see how far and in which direction others are so you can drill new holes and move around
