Head out from the launch go 3/4 way to the island. Find 42-46 fow. Use any assorted salmon goodies tipped with white corn or maggots. We have been fishing pretty close to the bottom.

So I heard a rumor that there may have been some bucket biology involving walleye at lake five. Anyone else heard that or is it just a rumor.

Yes, I called FWP and they gill netted 1 walleye.  They said there was only 1 in there.  So who ever did it was not successful thank god.  The sad thing is everywhere around here will start looking like that soon though

FWP pulled a Walleye or two out of there as far back as 2004 as far as I know (worked with them in 2005).  I think they were  illegally introduced but never really "took" to the system... or maybe just a few have maintained in there, I am not sure.  So far we are lucky, that the Walleye haven't made it into our lakes here in the northwest... but FWP did net a large female out of the Flathead sloughs about seven years ago or so. Since then, nothing else has been found that I know of.

Just ask the heads of Trout Unlimited, walleye never crossed the ND border into MT.Makes me laugh when people talk about walleye being a scourge,God forbid we embrace a fish that was here before we started stocking all our NON NATIVE trout species.
Catch and release,into BACON GREASE!
