Swan Lake Info
« on: Dec 11, 2013, 10:42 PM »
Anybody have any information on the status of Swan Lake this Winter.  I heard there were some decent perch starting to come out of there is that true.  I would really like to hook into some good perch in the O'Neill area but not sure if there are any good places to accomplish that.

We fished it last year. The majority of what we caught was very small. Like 4" or less! Not sure what the growth rate is. But I'm guessing its a ways away from good keeper size lake.

Theres good fish in swan just have to find them.    Any one been on the ice and can tell me what thickness is?  I'm sure people have been fishing it for a week or better.

Buller, if you decide to go. Please give us your report. I'm curious if the fish have grown.

there are some nice perch in swan when I go home to see my folks in oneill around the holidays I usually hit it up 2 winters ago we caught caught a lot of 8 and 9 inch perch last winter we caught fish up to 11 inches but had to turn the lake into swiss cheese to catch them my advice is larger minnows or a bigger lindy rattln flyr spoon tipped with minnow head this way you don't have to fight off so many small fish the small fish just clean u off before the bigger fish get there if ur using wax worms also if you light up the ice at swans deepest point at nite you can catch some really  big crappies 16+ inch fish
