I thought I would check in and see if anyone had any thoughts as far as categories. Last season we had :

Sunfish
Yellow Perch
Crappie
LM Bass
Chain Pickerel
Walleye
Northern Pike

It seemed to have a good spread of species available here in NJ. We do have to keep it somewhat limited but share your thoughts. I could always remove or add categories.

As long as the perch and sunfish stay I'm happy.

This may be silly for me to say but from the crappie can it be either a white or black crappie?

Yes white or black. Just like sunnies can be pumpkinseed or whatever.

delawareriver gotta hook up for some ice fishing this year what are good tip ups to use for the larger baits? i have i guess as you can say lower grade and perch at 8inches trip them easy

I think the species we had last year were perfect. Ample opportunities to catch most of those species in nearly all of the lakes in New Jersey.

Last years was good. that pretty much the only species i catch anyway. Only other fish i could think of are trout (all species) and maybe a wildcard category for those random incidental fish (muskie, catfish, hybrids, ect.)

As well as running it I make certificates for the 1st place winners. There's the paper, the ink and about an hour spent on each.

Trout and salmon. Someone needs to take a salmon from Way-Way or Aeroflex this season. They are the NJ mystery fish is you ask me.

I've been busy with the Frabill drawing, remaking certificates, lining up sponsors for the get together, etc..

I will have the braggin' tourney post up next week some time. I'll try to add as much as I can for this season.

I posted this years ISNJ Braggn'n Tourney. I enlarged the categories by adding and combining categories.

I also posted the sign up thread which will be open at 1:00 PM .. about 15 minutes.
