There is no doubt that they can "holdover" there just don't fall in.

they don't stock browns in the river they come out of francis. I have hooked a couple of monsters but have yet to land one.

Browns, brookies and rainbows are stocked in the lower section from the center of town downstream. We have caught many stocked browns in this section. Above Lake Francais brookies and bows are stocked. I'm sure that browns to get into this section from Lake Francais as you noted.

wtg slabbin and lou. slabbin i tried your jigs up at moosehead and they worked excellent. got a big cusk and a laker with it with only a small amount of time devoted to jigging. cold weather and thick ice made me turn to tip up fishing lazy man style. nice work up north.
