FYI Sand point is a federal park. Better read the regs before you start dropping eggs down the hole for whities.

Are there markers in the water designating the "federal park"?

Read the regs!!!

No mention in the DNR rule book. Add more exclamation points. It may help you get your point across better.  ::)

Some 3rd party website.

"By Superintendent’s Order, Pictured Rocks prohibits use as bait for fishing, any fish or fish part, including fish roe, amphibians, or crayfish, in NPS administered waters within the Lakeshore Zone of the National Lakeshore. Digging for bait within the Lakeshore is also prohibited."

However, this website (gov website) states exceptions for ICE FISHING.

Nice Whitefish... By the looks of it you were fishing the Munising  "trench".  Every big whitey I have ever got came out of the "trench".

Anybody know when the burbot fishing will get good? Been out the past 2 nights with limited results... Or is the Anna just not a very good place to target them?

I fished off of sunset last week and my flasher was showing bottom way up. Couldn't get a bit off of single eggs, so I threw a pimple down and caught 4 burbot in about half an hour. No chum and it was just before dark. Not much size though, about 15-20". But I did throw them back so maybe they are still there :)

Do they let you access the lake right from the motel? I always see people walking out on the ice up that way from the Anna, but I'm not sure how they're getting on?

You can park on that street and walk out. I just wouldn't crowd the end of the street too much.

These regulations do not include the waters in Lake Superior. The National Lakeshore ends at the beach and the underwater preserve starts. There are no restrictions on baits except for those stated for the rest of that lake section.

Good Fishin!!!

Hows the ice holding up?

Coho hitting yet? I'm thinking of making a trip this weekend off of Bay Furnace.
