Lake powell
« on: Nov 13, 2005, 10:24 PM »
not icefishing but still some cool pics. Sadly, lake powell never freezes to my knowledge. I can see why, it got up to like 112 when I was there.

Went to lake powell this summer and had a lot of fun. Like usual, many of my pics got screwed up.

Anyhow, here are a few pics!
I was stunned at the beauty of lake powell, cliffs and crystal clear water

Here is the best striper I got there. Around 10 pounds I think. At least this pic didn't get screwed up
 :D

Here is a smallmouth I caught that was literally pitch-black in color.

Some stripers

Look the right way!

if anybody from michigan will help me out with the lakes and stuff up here I'd really appreciate it since I'm new to the area.

nice lake stripers there. What are you getting them on, jigs or plugs?  ;D WTG Very nice.
Does that lake freeze up in the winter?
Come on ICE!

Thanks guys. Caught most of those stripers on bait. We also caught small channels of up to two pounds on bait. I did catch a 4 pound striper on a heddon torpedo thingy during a boil. The boils were just starting when we went there, too bad they weren't full blast. During the night we caught hundreds of stripers and crappie where this dock thing goes out and there are artificial lights. Fish everywhere you look though mostly 12". Some eyes too but didn't get those.
slipbob, fished w/ family there.
I have more scenery pics that are very beautiful so I will post them soon.
