Scouts catch nice fish

I took the scouts fishing at Northwood Lake on Saturday.  Conditions were better than I thought they'd be.  No slush, and about 10-12 inches of good ice.  Fishing was slow, but one of the kids caught this monster.  We estimate it to be around 25".  It came out of the hole with a bad attitude!

That's awesome!  Great to see the kids out there and I'll be they all loved that giant coming through the hole!

From a long time ago. Used to take scouts to Hidden Valley for winter camping and fishing. The best of times!!

Wish I knew that was you...that was me with the other troop out there. We did OK early...a few White perch, a bunch of tiny Yellow Perch and a couple of Pickerel....weather was perfect.

3 of the boys kept their White Perch and cooked them up for lunch
