What the hell is wrong with some of these Ice fisherman???

I fished laphams bay on Saturday and i could not believe my eyes as i walked around the ice and fished . In various areas of the lake there were frozen dead perch, blue gills, and crappies on the Ice, just left there to rot and feed the crows. Some of these perch i saw were very nice perch like 12-13 inches. The one thing that pisses me off the most is seeing dead fish left on the ice . 
If i was a deer Hunter and i would not just shot a Deer and  leave there it there for the coyotes to feed on just because i did not feel like cleaning it .
Even if i was tip up fishing and i caught a big bass or pike which i don't eat , i would not leave it on the ice just to rot no matter how big it was or even if i hooked them deeply . i would cut the line and give the fish a chance to live .
It just makes me wondering why some of these retards fish, are they just out there to kill fish??? if you are one of these morons, that do this , don't let me catch you because i will be more then happy whoop you A**

i have seen the same thing this year more than once, not an excuse for the unacceptable behavior, but i think it may be caused by the slow fishing, people are only catching a few fish, not enough for a meal and throwing the ones they have caught on the ice when they leave.  my brother was fishing up at carmi this last weekend and the game warden had a trash bag with 6-7 nice unskinned pike in it that someone had left on the ice.  some people....

That's what freezers are for.  So you might spend a little more on freezer bags but its our responsibility as sportsman to either eat donate or sell what we harvest, not waste.

This is at least the fourth time this year i have seen similar stories on ice shanty! I have seen it on the ice in ri in the past too! These people need to be stopped! What a waste!

Glad you posetd BW. This makes me sad too. I have a few times iced a few fish waiting for more. When I didnt get more I either gave what I had to the next guy or he gave me some of his. There is absolutely no reason for this behavior. Gives us doing the right thing a bad name. Hope those a~holes arent out there this weekend! Being new to VT and trying to make friends, I've encountered some of these idiots, hunting and fishing. I'd rather go at it alone then identify with scumbags.

I know all the fisher man on here care too much about the sport they love to do anything like this. It probably some dirt bag , who cant read or write that's why he is not on here.

We have been seeing the same thing in Malletts Bay. Mostly dinks on the ice that could grow to be keepers aren't given the chance. Very frustrating that there are complaints of the quality and quantity of fish being caught yet this is happening.

I have thrown so many little dink perch back into the water that i have lost count years ago, but i am always thinking that maybe one of these dink perch will grow up be a big slammer perch someday.

I saw two big Pizza, Cardboard boxes, by Hoggies Pizza's, on the ice in Southbay in Newport, on Saturday, on the ice.  I went over with my truck and picked them up.  Then I yelled down to Shanty-town and said, Trash Hogs.  I recycle.

Exact same thing happened 2 weeks ago near Arrowhead.  Two piles of fish guts tossed near the landing, and only 100 feet from somone's house, to stink up their home come the thaw.  Looks like they cleaned fish from somewhere else, and dumped them off at the first fishing access they came to on their way home.  Thoughtless.

I give up lots of hooks each year throwing fish back, if you don't eat it don't keep it. I wouldn't call them fishermen.

If they want to help the game fish and they feel this is the best way of doing it more power to em, if they are within the means of the law. I would just note that the fish they are leaving on the ice are yummy and would be more than glad to take them off their hands!

Well.. the ones i saw on the ice did not look to yummy  especially after being there for awhile and the crows picking at them.

See the same thing a lot down here in MA. No need for it. If your not going to eat it let it go. I don't even like seeing the fish kept for trophies. Take the picture get the 3 measurements and have a replica made. They are so good today it looks exact. Keep a good picture and hang it with the replica. People will know you caught it and it will still be in the water for someone else
