I think it may be worse than what everyone is saying. I was there on the weekend and it is not bad to 2 miles out - but still lots of slush. I heard from others guys coming off it gets worse further out.
Thanks guys.... I plan on preparing for the worst.... I will go out as early as possible and get it off when the snow is hard.... Suppost to get warm this weekend!!! Its to bad, cause the good fishing is still yet to come!!!
Was out yesterday, ZERO slush or flood water, talked to a few guys that came across the lake and said it was good. Did see a couple spots where IT HAD been trouble but it was -22 in the morning so it was all avoidableOh yeah, flags were busy all day, nothing huge, I landed my personal best, a 17.8lb and a 7lb, one guy landed a 11, 13, and a 15, in that order increasing his personal best each catch! And the "guide" managed to pull up a 4lber and lost a couple in the logs.
Well that is somewhat promising news to hear. I assume you are out on the flats? If so how far out are you and where did you come onto the lake? I'd like to get out to Elk Island area, but my last attempt a few weeks ago ended up with me being stuck in 12"+ slush/water for a good hour, I eventually had to turn back, and didn't even get to drop a line. The visability was terrible though and I couldn't see more than 10ft in front of me.
I wonder if a person could get onto Tobin Lake off highway #123 at the boat launch just before E.B Campbell Dam and would theconditions on the lake be any better out that way? WW
Funny...I have a buddy that sleds all the way across the flats to get to his spot, was there yesterday, never mentioned it being bad when i asked him about floodwater, seems like you always get the worst days DBK
Does anyone have pictures of this slush??vvI have a couple mountain sleds and was thinking of going next wednesday for a few days
Anyone been fishin tobin lately?
