For those who were out at long point, midway/vikings.  What did you have for ice?  Actual measurement from a scoop or tape.

How do All,
I want to give a greatbig thanks to C-Bisket,JOHN44 and SYATFROSTY for a good time on the ice Monday!Fishing wasn't the best,(Viking, shallow then deep, lots of dinks, not a limit btween 4 of us)but the weather was a bluebird day with all day sun and very little wind!I enjoyed myself very much despite only icing 1 perch and threw back about 35.

                                                                          THANKS VERY MUCH
                                                                             FISHN NIK

I have yet been able to get on the ice this year due to my work schedule and fighting a monster of a kidney stone for 1 1/2 months. Does anyone think the ice will survive this warm up or is it over already ?

With the changing weather from day to day any report on ice conditions would be appreciated.

supposedley and I stress supposedley the weather man said Chautauqua ridge going to get hit with snow storm tonight into Saturday along with high winds. I trust them as many times as I catch walleye thru the ice  ;) from the reports sounds ok LP to Midway still. Going to hold out for Sunday with better weather and hopefully the lake doesn't get dumped on with snow. Has anyone fished Mission Meadows recently I hate the hill but I always caught bigger perch and a straggler walleye here and there.

"Good bye everybody. I've got to go. Gotta leave it all behind and face the storm".  For the short time we've had on the ice this year I hope you have all made the best of it.  For one I had a good time and explored some water I wouldn't have otherwise.  Overall it seems like the average size of perch was down for whatever reason.  I'm a firm believer that on a lake the size of chautauqua the angler take is a negligible factor on the general condition of the perch fishery.  Either the odd weather caused the larger sized perch to be in drastically different habitat than normal or there is something else going on in the ecosystem that has caused the adult/large population to decline.  In either case I will be out there in open water and after it freezes targeting different species depending on the conditions.  Lets face the fact that the state no longer has the resources to babysit our fisheries and we will most likely be in a situation of taking or leaving what the lakes and streams have to offer in a hands-off management state.  I'm fine with that and I know I will find a way to catch something and have fun as long as the state maintains water quality and prevents pollution/habitat degradation.  What will be will be and I'll fish it. AMEN

Cleaning up  the gear, and probally will put the huts back up on the rack in the garage this weekend.  Wow that was a short season.  Only got out 4 times.  Time to get the kayaks fired up!
The Greenhornet's caught more fish then you've lied about, Gustafson!

 http://www.wunderground.com/webcams/towerclimber/1/show.html

... the above link shows the far south end of the lake, Burtis Bay - haven't been shacks on that end for a couple weeks now (on the cam) ... the new (this year) Chautauqua Lake BS thread is below here:

http://www.iceshanty.com/ice_fishing/index.php?topic=158734.0

... this link above here, is the current BS thread for the lake - this thread we're on now is old ! ... good luck!

Thanks C-Bisket! I had tried towerclimbers webcam before but just saw black.  Could have been an old night time shot I guess, but I can see this link works...and no huts.

Guess my search for ice in WNY continues
