anyone been on the ice at the tailing pond up the big bay road...kinda a far drive for me just to check ice.i think its called hodgekins.

went there newyrs eve...good ice...lots of dink perch...but did manage to weed thru them for 12 keepers!great place for a kid to learn how to fish...constant action with perch!

I must have the same luck as one of those fish you caught. I fished that pond 2-3 times a week last year since it's so close to NMU and i never once managed to ice more than 5 dinks a trip. Oh well, it scratches the itch and i'll try again this year.

big mike...there are some spots there that are 9-10 ft deep..theats where you wanna be for the bigger(lol) perch.also lots of pike in there!

yeah, Arn was the man that told me about that pond. every time i fished there i ended up in about 7-8 ft of water. never hooked a pike or many perch but i did measure a few keeper pike for guys while i was out there.

I've been out there about 9 times now ice was pretty good and caught a few nice perch and a couple small pike.

Where is this pond located at... I see a couple little ponds every time I head up to big bay.  I would like to take the old lady somewhere so she can get a few fish through the ice.
