I went out fishing yesterday in the Gaylord area and I usually set out two tip ups for pike and usually try to pan fish in the shanty, just wasting time for my tip ups to go up, but instead a Northern Pike decide to swim into my whole in the shanty and stay there for a couple of minutes. He was staring at my wax worm and I thought to myself if he hits this we will break my line and I was not going to take that chance. So quickly, I grabbed another pole and tied a steel liter on it, put a treble hook on and attached a Golden to the hook and as soon as I out the Golden in the whole the Northern nailed it. It took about 10 minutes to real in on a 4 pound test line with a little perch pull. It was a rush and the Northern ending up being 25 inches. I would def do that again.
