Anyone swing by crystal lake recently?

Stopped by this afternoon.  A good half the lake is open and none of the coves looked safe enough to even get out of the truck. Hope this cold spell does some good and locks her up.

rock as long as the wind stays down it will lock fast it had ice already it won't take long to make

I live on the lake....open in many places as of 10:00 am today. 1 1/2 inches in some places on the ellington side. Hoping that with the cold snap coming in it will lock up again quick. I will let all know once I am out on it for sure, it's a very scary lake in early ice!!!

Papa you got that right. Not the lake to be on until it locks up good.

i agree with you both i try to fish it on ice at least 2 times a year
