Introduction

Hi all,

Just wanted to take the chance to introduce myself.  Have been a dedicated fisherman for the past 27 years but only really spent much focus on ice fishing the past 5 or so.  Love the sport though.  Glad to be aboard such a great forum.  Looking forward to sharing experiences/info.

welcome aboard. best advise i can give a newbie is, make 3 posts check the reports and conditions pages for the lakes you fish and do alot of reading and researching, then if you dont find the answers to your questions just ask. lol, again welcome aboard.

Thanks, o2rmk800. that's what I'm working toward, haha.  I fortunately have family with 30+ years experience on the ice to help me out, as well as a small handful of friends with similar experience.  Not that I don't need help or that there isn't more to learn, we are always learning, but hopefully I have enough of a jump start that I can contribute more significantly than your average newb.

BTW, I fish WNY. Primarily Chautuaqua and nearby finger lakes.  Used to make trips up to Simcoe with family but gas is wayyyy too expensive to justify pulling all the equipment and two selds that far for weekend trips these days.
