Sitting around waiting on new auger blades to arrive. Thought about using the ol' HT hand auger, but those blades aren't as sharp as they used to be. Considered a run to Rocky Mtn Discount but the SM Lazer is about $25 higher than other places, and they have no 8" replacement blades for my SL-II. Even the employee there said he went to Scheels to get his! LOL

Tracker says they should be here by end of business on Monday. I need to thaw out anyway I guess. Ya'll have a good weekend!

you should get one of these. They work decent, will not be like new, but will keep you fishing.

I am not going to lie when i seen that the c'mon ups thread was started by wyoutdoors i was thinking man he must have ordered more PK's. Then I opened it and started reading it and to my surprise it was not PK's.

Dude lets shapen thouse old blades and see if we match the new ones. I'm not bad at resharping blades, been doing it to my jiffy 30 for some time now. I have no complaints! Hell its not that hard but just need a good stone and some common cents. My hand augers blades are sick! Got tired of doing cirlces around my hand auger and decided to learn the traid. I have power augers now but will always fault to my stander hand auger when needed. LOL

Im waiting on them aswell! I have an lx7 coming but here's the kicker, they sent it to the wrong house number so I have had to play phone tag with them until they change it

I would have been a little P.O'd if my wife didn't see it when she left for work. Then last summer he has the nerv to tell me there was too deep of snow that day. 1" of snow too deep?

On TOP of the mailbox? Maybe they thought it was a Fruitcake and they were doing you a favor?

@Special, I've considered sharpening them myself, but the pain of driving out to the ice somewhere and then not having the blades cut properly outweigh the cost of replacements. Thinking I'm going to ship the old ones back to Fish307 and have at least one new set of sharp blades with me at all times. I'm hoping I didn't strip something important inside the powerhead when the auger was getting stuck in teh hole over and over again.

I would consider sharpening them myself. Putting the old blades back on and keeping the new ones, when they come, as backup. Worst case, you have to put the new ones on while on the ice.

See this Guy in Gillette Wyoming Glen Hitson 307-682-1694 he sharpens knives, scissors, auger blades just about anything very reasonable, fast and your stuff will be so sharp you can shave with it. Retired guy and he does no use any grinders or belt sanders. He does all my stuff. Tell him I sent ya!

I am waiting on USPS. My blades gave out all of a sudden. I callled the Sheboyan falls ,
WI location and they will sharpen the jiffy blades for free. I was three weeks over the three year limit on the warrentee. Anyone remember all the headache I had with the new STX that ran poorly then got lost in Minnesota, what an odessey. I had the engine tuned up last year and it really helped.

I don't even want to think about a hand auger after running the SL-II for a few seasons, but I may end up investing in a better Lazer 6" as a backup. The HT I have has a few years on it and is meh at cutting.

Been drilling with a Strikemaster MAG2000 since well before 2000 and have only replaced the BLADE once, gotta luv the chipper

Been Drilling with my Jiffy STX chipper blade for going on 5 years now without ever sharpening it. Drill 100's of holes per ice season and it still cuts through the ice like butter. Had an eskimo before the Jiffy and I had to sharpen or replace the turbo cut blades at least once a year.

New blades arrived this afternoon. Probably have to go to work around noon tomorrow but may head somewhere to give it a "test". I'm hoping that's all it is and not a internal issue now.
