Jig storage ??
« on: Jan 02, 2013, 08:41 PM »
How all store all of your jigs . This is how I have mine . I like this because I can keep it with me all the time but sometimes I have trouble with the paint chipping from rubbing each other .

That worked fine. I have the same type containers but I have foam thats cut to fit into each compartment (really soft and porous so it doesn't hurt my hook point) and I hook all of my jigs to that so they don't rattle around and beat on eachother.

I have similar boxes, but I have my gill and crappie in one, ice flys in another and my perch (pimples, raps, halis, lu johns) in another.

I have everything that I use most of the time in this one . I keep all my bigger raps. and tip up stuff in the box on the back of my fl20.
I have thought about trying the boxes that are lined with foam but don't want to have to carry 10 of them .

I like the peg boxes that Cabelas puts out. They come in 3 sizes, and keep everything nice and neat. You burry the hook between the nubs. love them, have 2. One for ice flies and one for jigs.

Thanks for the replies guys maybe I just need to thin them out some and try to find a foam lined box that will work . I know some of them don't get used much but you never know what the fish will want on any given day .

I do the same thing, try to keep mine organized by the type of jig or the species that I'm fishing for.  Now if I can only remember which pocket had the right jig box I was looking for.  I like to keep my jigs in non-clear boxes.  I think that if glow jigs are exposed to the sunlight less they glow for longer periods of time.  I fish for gills 95% of the time though and I would say 90% of my gill jigs are non-glowing jigs though.  Something to think about if you fish with alot of glow jigs.

This box folds in half and snaps shut so sun light is not a problem with this one . I do have some glows in there but I don't use them all that often . I use painted fiskas  most of the time .

There is only one theory about angling in which I have perfect confidence, and this is that the two words, least appropriate to any statement, about it, are the words "always" and "never."

Here's a box I've been using for the last couple of years for larger baits.  It fits in a 5 gallon bucket, has adjustable dividers, one half is full depth without dividers.....it's pretty handy.

My first one I bought a couple years ago was online.  I just purchased the second one in Syracuse at Track & Channel Bait & Tackle.  Walleyepac on here is the owner.  (store)574-457-2490.
Maybe we could get his store info added to the list of bait and tackle shops in the Indiana News and Info.... pinned at the top of the Indiana page...JT?
