LX-6/LX-7 screen dimensions

Can someone give me the dimensions of the actual screen size of the LX-6 and LX-7?  I know they are 6 and 8 inch screens, but I want the heighth and width of actual viewing area.  I've seen some pics of the flasher dial on the 6 that looks like it is crammed into the viewing area.  Wanting to get a general idea of how big of an area I am looking at.  With NO vendors stocking these units out here, it's hard to know what I am looking at.

Viewing area of the LX-6 = 3 1/4 inches high x 4 1/4 inches wide.  5 1/2 inches diagonally.

Viewing area of the LX-7 = 4 7/8 inches high x 6 1/2 inches wide.  8 inches diagonally.

I was torn between the two units as well... I made the 2.5 hour drive to a gander mtn and took a look for myself at them side by side.  I thought the same thing you did about the 6 looking cramped and also noticed while playing with them in the store that when in chart mode the monitor was too small for the graphics displayed or the graphics too big, and the depth numbers on the left of the screen were being cut off. 

I went with the 7.

The colors of the 6 are not as vibrant as they are on the 7.  Especially noticed with the green color.  And when using the chart graph it is positioned too far to the left of the screen - this cuts the depth numbers off as you look at it straight on.  You have to move to the right to read the numbers.  Granted these are things that I'm sure Marcum can easily fix in an update. 

I still haven't decided on which one yet - I like how balanced the 6 is when carrying it, but at the same time it's almost too small of a screen.  The 7 is big and bulky but easy to see.  Weight difference is only slightly better on the 6.

The $100 price difference between the 2 would be another factor I would have to take into consideration...but I am cheap and am use to the small screen of a X67 so the screen on a LX-6 would seem like a movie theater screen to me  .
