You can definitely use it on the ice but it won't work as good as a flasher. Turn fish ID off for best results. It should show you bottom and any fish that might be under you, I'm not sure if it will show your jig or not. Play with the sensitivity and see if you can get it to show your jig. You can rig up your transducer on a wooden dowel or use pipe insulation/pool noodle to rig a float. Try to make your transducer as level as possible.

Thanks for your help bpiatt,
Sorry l got the model number incorrect l have a Eagle Cuda 168 Portable Fish Finder.
I have made contact with eagle in the us and l have found a dealer here in saskatoon.
The only problem l can see is that the ice transducer has 2 connections for the battery
not l round connector l have on my portable.
Does this mean that l need to buy another 12 volt battery. :icefish:

If the 12v battery that came with your sonar only has one output then yes you should pick up another battery. you can find a 12v 7ah battery for less than 20 dollars on ebay. You might be able to cut the wires coming out of the battery you currently have, there should be two wires. Then you can use a multi meter to determine positive and negative. Did your original battery come with a charger? If it did your also going to need a new charger if you cut it.

bpiatt l did not get a 12volt battery with my sonar l have a compartment that l put 8 AA batteries into that power up my sonar.
I think l will buy another battery, l am ok for the charger as l have a 12volt battery for my fish tv 7.
Thank you. :icefish:
