Gill Heaven
« on: Oct 22, 2012, 01:31 PM »
I was up Sebewaing way this weekend winterizing my boat. Threw a #14 hook with some Gulp Fathead minnow heads out with 1 splitshot and a small bobber into the cut behind our cottage. Damn!  Over 100 gills of all sizes in less than 3 hours.  My arm's still tired. The neighbor came back with 1/2 dozen smallmouth - monsters! I still felt better about my gills.

I'm ready for hardwater. :icefish:

And I'm in love with gulp minnow heads - first time using them - durable and the fish love 'em. Found som "Glow Red" for the ice.

haven't seen the minnow heads yet. I've been using the G Alive 1" smelt, and the maggots. Got the freezer fairly stocked for the winter if we dont get ice in SW. I'll look and see if they're around here. MEIJER'S had a good supply, but Christmas decors are pushing stuff out. BTW, got my limit of gills this afternoon slow drift gulpers and a little jig.
