I've seen fish slide right up next to it and stare at the bait.  I've never seen a negative reaction to it.  More often than not, I would say it attracted them somewhat. My 2 cents.

Never seemed to sppok them but seems like since we quit using the camera and relied on just the flashers our catch rates went up...Walleye are the only species I noticed to be camera shy....

I have a Marcum and it's shaped like a stingray So far it's been attacked by burbot and pike makes for a wild ride when your watching the screen hahaha. Perch will swim right up to it and bump it and walleyes will circle it at times I noticed, if you move it they take off like a bat out ofhell.

Ive had Northern grab the perch colored camera several times, I have also noticed that walleye and at times whitefish are spooked by the camera.

X2 on the walleye and whitefish being scared off.   I had an Accu Vu which died last winter.  I would never buy another camera.
They were fun to watch at first and the grand kids enjoyed looking at the pictures.   I like the flasher and no camera.
Stay safe  ....    Tom
