OPen Country Panhandler not for yellow Perch????
« on: Jan 22, 2013, 10:18 AM »
So The GF and I hit the perch pretty hard and I was looking for something that would be quick and I came across the panhandler which looks awesome (Youtube it) but I had only seen them used for crappies and gills so I wrote the company who told me they don't consider perch a panfish and thus it wouldn't work

So great that I didn't buy it and not work but really perch not a panfish???

is there anything out there that can help me get through a pile of fish other than an electric knife?

You can always try this. It's been posted here a few times. I personally wouldn't clean them this way, but that's just me.

, electric or hand knife filleting is way faster , than either method , my dad use to skin perch that way until he saw how much faster filleting was and no bones , and the panhandler takes way to much time , way to many extra steps involved , just my opinion

I have tried this method a few times, but I prefer the electric knife.
