Newlan creek
« on: Jan 13, 2012, 08:05 PM »
Went to Newlan after figuring out that deadmans didn't have any ice. Newlan has plenty of ice and fishing was good. I caught nine rainbows and one 20" ling.  Fished near inlet. Other people near me weren't catchin any. Thanks vexilar.

I was there Sunday. 16 inches or more, and no issues along the shoreline, but the top inch was getting soft from the warm weather.

Fished Newlan Res today caught 12 trout, missed 7. Real nice day, morning alittle cold 13 degrees. Fished from 8:00am until 1:30pm ice was about 22 inches thick and no wind. It was a great day of fishing.

I've sure had some freezing cold nights up there at 6000'!

My best bites have always been on buckshots with maggots or sucker meat. Bounce it on the bottom. Sometimes tipups/deadsticks work too.
