Northeast Taxidermy in Middletown CT.    One the best in the business. You can mail whatever it is to him tell him what you want and he will mail it back.  I had 5 fish done by Joe. Can not find a thing that I do not like about any of them.

Thanks for all the help guys, as for the fish to mount I'm working on it every year I fish the rivers and pull out some gorgeous browns, I always say
To myself I'm going to mount the next one but never get around to it mainly because I'm not prepared and don't know where to go with the catch.

I'm looking into having my pickerel done again ! It will have to be made from scratch, with measurements from my affidavit ! I called a few places that told me they didn't have any blank molds to match the size ,so it would have to be carved from scratch ! Does anyone know of a quality shop to do complete replica mounts from scratch ?

It's the one in the photo below ,next to the pin . 24 1/4" long , 15 1/2" girth , 6.4 Lbs. I think its the short length to the fat girth that's a problem with blanks ?

Yeah, it's definitely an odd one,  worst case you can go with one about 14" girth and split the belly and open it up to 15 1/4 and then bondo the seam and resculpt the scales

Is there a way to just create a replica to the exact measurements ? I don't know much about how fish are mounted ,real or replica ? As for the one already mounted ,it looks more like the two 5 pounders I tossed back the same day . So know I want one to look EXACTLY like the photo below !

http://berkshires.citysearch.com/profile/4599434/lanesboro_ma/gillette_s_taxidermy.html Greg gillette he did a bass for me.        good job 21yrs later still looks nice.

I WOULD NEVER BRING ANYTHING to Gillette. Unless you NEVER want to see it again. I know more people that have brought whatever to him and he did not return it to them or messed it up, than I do that got their mounts back. Some people that I know think that the mount they got back also are not even the same fish or bears. Or people can not get in contact with him. He never answers his phone once he gets whatever it is you bring him or never returns calls. I have had two experiences with him in the last 8 to 10yrs. Gave him the benefit of the doubt on the first screw up,  but when he porked my father on a 15lb salmon, and my father knew him for years and worked with him and still waiting for that fish and the return call.

I could go on forever.

If I can give you one bit of advice, go with anyone but him. Trust me, just ask around the area. You will find out more.
Can not believe people still bring him stuff. ::) :o

Yup heard the same stuff.  I brought my first pike and bass to LaBlue but that was when the grandfather was alive.  My last pike went to October Mtn. but she moved down to CT.  It was well worth the ride cause she did a heck of a job and would recommend her to anyone. Also, Northest like Fishinaddiction says.

Not to beat a dead horse, but I dropped 2 beautiful pike off to gilettes years ago(one was my son's).  I kept bugging him for almost 3 years-with no replies from him.  He finally called me back one day and said he FOUND THE PIKE.  He began work on the first one and said he would  have it done in 1 WEEK.  I NEVER CALLED HIM BACK AND HE NEVER CALLED ME BACK.  I guess you live and you learn-I hate to bad mouth anyone but this was my experience with him.

Just take pictures and throw them back.
