Just got back from Hyalite today.  It has two feet of snow on top but the bottom 10" to 12" of it is slush.  Get your kneehigh's on or wear gators.  The walk out was tough as well but then again I don't go there a lot and there might be better access than where I went.

Went to the boat ramp (sorry, can't remember name) that is halfway up the lake off the dirt road and then went straight out.  I didn't get skunked but it takes a little bit of finess to catch em there from what I found.  Hope it goes well and that you stay dry!  I had work to do today and slicing my finger open on my auger didn't help.  lol.

Went up today and the fishing was pretty tough...4 fish total.  I would also advise that you not go to the inlet...or atleast were the inlet usually is.  The lake is about 10' lower than previous years and you have to get down to where you are straight across from the cabins to find fishable water...about 400 yards north.  Snow was thigh deep with 12" of slush on the ice, took almost an hour to get to our fishing spot.

yes quite a bit of snow and nasty slush that makes dragging my sled no fun.... what cabins are u talking about, and is the inlet the creek by the boat ramp? anyone ever fish the other end, oppisite of dam, looks like u can go around the road and walk through one of the closed camp grounds? maybe

The inlet is not the creek by the boat ramp...it's at the south end.  The cabins are on the east shore about a mile towards the inlet.
