I'm hoping for a nice long ice season...but while we're on the subject, anyone up for a Shanty get together say Mar. if the ice holds...and I'm thinking it should

Sounds like a fun plan but by March I am getting back to work but we will see. Have to plant those beets so there is something to slice next year.

Spring fishing is always a good time, unless you do like I did back home in South Dakota and put your car through the ice haha. Watched a pickup go out in front of me just fine and figured my old carolla would be ok as well, not so much. I'm still in though!

i think the weekend after the derby as after the march the 5th I have knee replacement and will be done with the ice probably for the year. or find a day or weekend in February I'm good with that

Why not after the derby in February? Pick a time and place to meet. We can have a "pow wow" if the Chief makes it.

Sounds like everyone is good for the last weekend in Feb. Am I getting that correct? We should be done slicing beets and I think I'll get that weekend off, (fingers crossed).

Place...would like to consider Magic this year. We can get alot more participation I think. Next year, maybe something more north for our northern brothers and sisters. Guess it will depend on the ice. Mobile weather channel on the phone has the nite time temps at Cascade gettin back down into the single digits and teens starting this weekend, so maybe Magic will do the same.

What do we want to do as far as BBQ or what? Let's decide and I'll put together the list.

Maybe we can even do a little tourney of our own...everyone throw in a buck or two and split it between perch and trout and then winner take all in each category...just a thought. Or maybe a braggin rights trophy...

I have never fished Magic so that sounds great. Hopefully Saturday is what everyone is thinking.
I make a living catering BBQ so I am certainly willing to help with that part.

sound like a good weekend to me, just hope I dint get sucked into another weekend project, ( going on 3rd weekend) but yes the last weekend in February sounds like fun as long it's somewhat close to the south east part of the state, if anyone would wanna car pool that would make it easy er on the wallet

I'm in Hogger. Make it somewhere close to the southeast. Also the last weekend in Feb. I am going to Vegas.

I would like to make it, last year had my left knee replaced at Xmas time. This year right knee at same time so I have missed the last two years of ice fishing so hoping maybe I can make it then

Ok, let's hope the weather gives us a shot at Magic. Last weekend in Feb. is the time...on that sat the 25th.

Let's start posting who thinks they can make it and how many people they may be bringing with them. Perch Freak...soon as we get a general idea of how many people "may" show up, I'll get in touch with you to work out the details on the BBQ idea, ok?

I sure hope Magic gets good by then...sure would like to meet all of you.

I think I can come up with a "Braggin Rights" trophy for both the trout and the perch. I'm not keen on the idea of anyone paying in for a friendly competition. I'll just make the Trophies and we'll call it good.

I think we can take a head count until the 15th of Feb and then we'll see how we're gonna do the 'carnivores delight' for the BBQ.

If anyone can think of anything else, I'll making a thread Called 1st annual Team Spudsickle South get together.
We're so far spread out, I'd like to see you guys up north to consider something like this just to build commraderie, (sorry, spelling sucks on this one,LOL).
