I like the mod man. But you stated in the beginning you wanted the one man so you could flip and go from hole to hole. With those pop out bars your kind of impeding on that, having to break those down every time you move.
Another way to fix that i think would be to drop the whole bottom bar to the ground, and sew in some velcro straps to secure the bottom edge to the pole. Taht should pull the sides out and allow you to still flip and go.
A design like this. The red is the modded bar, so the whole front bar sits on the ice.

I got the velcro in last night. Ill get a pic of it when i get home and post it. It pulls the side walls nice and tight. And still folds up nice.
