I like the mod man. But you stated in the beginning you wanted the one man so you could flip and go from hole to hole. With those pop out bars your kind of impeding on that, having to break those down every time you move.

Another way to fix that i think would be to drop the whole bottom bar to the ground, and sew in some velcro straps to secure the bottom edge to the pole. Taht should pull the sides out and allow you to still flip and go.

A design like this. The red is the modded bar, so the whole front bar sits on the ice.

Here is mine.
New elbows dropping it to the ground from the tub.

Cut the existing bar to length, and used wooden pegs for support

Existing bar and elbow joined and secured.

Before velcro strips are in along bottom edge.

Folded back

I got the velcro in last night. Ill get a pic of it when i get home and post it. It pulls the side walls nice and tight. And still folds up nice.

The fishing was good; it was the catching that was bad.

since the shack flips from front to back I can still pull it in the down position and there's no issues. even if I needed to flup it over the bars litterally take 2 seconds each to pop off. the ends are sanded and just sit in the holdees by pressure

But bringing it to the ground will not allow you to keep the bottom pole vertical if you were going to just use it as a wind break.  With the PVC mod you would still be able to use that feature.
