got out this morning with Rippinlipps and caught a some gills and a few i think they were warmouths and had a good time and made it out again in the afternoon with my son and caught some more...He had a blast reeling them up and trying to get them out the hole...I think next year i am going to have to buy him his own vex so i can use mine..

and here is tonights catch we were out for about an hour and a half then the shut off at dark

Those times are priceless, get him his own for Christmas next year! If I could take my son, I couldn't think of a better thing to spend extra $ on than time outdoors together.

After he opens the flasher, have him open the package with a new fillet knife ;-)

i see he has the cajun ice rod! i love mine! the reel is garb on it though, so i put on a shimano ice reel and wow is it a great combo now!

no that is another Shakespeare rod but the reel is garbage and i have the cajun rod to and it is also junk...lol...

haha yeah on second thought, the cajun rod is pretty crappy.. but it was my first rod/reel combo i ever bought for ice fishing so it holds a special place in my bucket

Those are good times right there!!!!my girl,6yrs Loves to ice fish! My boy does to but I think she enjoys it alot more.

Looks like a good day. My son is 5, I started taking him out last year. He started out scooping holes and tangling lines. Now he is setting up tipups, baiting his own hook and patient enough to fish for a couple of hours if its slow. Wouldn't have it any other way, a lifetime hunting and fishing buddy.

Thanks...Yeah we have been on them for about a week now going out tomorrow to try to get something a little bigger but i have a feeling we will be back soon for some more

lol...yeah he still gets real inpatient on a slow bite but he does good my youngest is 5 and this will be his first year out but i actually think he will be a little more patient with it...

I started taking my 2 sons fishing when they were 2-3 yrs.old.I hope that you guys with young kids get as lucky as I have been,they are now 24&21 & are my full time fishing buddies.I love seeing pics of kids with big smiles while fishing or hunting, truly PRICELESS !
