Ho Boy! I got my FL-18 and now I know what I've been missing. I give my Eagle to my buddy to use, because he doesn't have any electronics. But as long as the FL-18 is working, I'll never go back to the Eagle! It is a whole different level.

I just got an FL-8 and I love it, I have seen the FL-18 in action also, and maybe someday I'll upgrade mine, for now it does make a big difference having a flasher it shows fish and with a little experience on it you can tell the biting "mood" of the fish. The FL-8 works excellent I've iced plenty of panfish with it and plan on hitting the deeper waters for lake trout this week!!
It also works great with the underwater camera for the panfish to see when they are hitting light.

I bought a fl-18 about a month ago. After having another brand flasher that cost
as much as an fl-8 and didn't work like it was advertised,I got an fl-18.I've caught
more fish this year than in the past four years combined. To an extent I would have
caught the same if using an fl-8.I went fishing for lakers for the first time this past weekend. In 40'-60' of water, that zoom comes into it's own and really shines. Here
in CO they apparently stick to the bottom for the most part.Within 1'.Without the zoom you can't get that fine tuned look at the bottom. It's not perfect and that
may be because of my interpretation of what I see on the flasher. You really don't
need it fishing 20' of water regardless of where the fish are,and as long as the
fish are suspended above that bottom 6' it doesn't matter at any depth what you're fishing because it won't show them.Could I afford another flasher?NO.Was
it worth another $100? Well..I would spend that much at a ballgame or a few
dinners and quite a few six-packs.But I would have something of quality that I can
use for years that those other things would be a memory at best. Not to say that
catching and eating fish are'nt eventually memories.Think of an fl-18 as having hi-
beams or passing gear in a car.You may not need it all the time but it's nice to have when you do.I bought mine from Thorne Bros. and one of the deciding factors
was that the salesman had an fl-8 for years. But given the choice he would get an fl-18.
