5" throughout,  very crap ice for 20ft out or so on the west end coming in off the north side where the road dead ends. It wouldn't support me yesterday. Lot's or rotting vegetation in that shallow water. The rest of the lake is fine though. I fished lake 1 and limited on gills in the 6-9" range..

I remember Fremont lakes as a kid, last time I was there was 25 years ago. Is Fremont SRA the same as Fremont lakes and how many lakes are there? Thanks

Yes it is the fremont lakes there are to parts to the lakes west on millitary st past elevator is the old lakes 1-8 and the newer lakes is 9-20 fishing has been alot slower after last years winter kill and the game and parks not putting any effort to rebuild and they have changed it alot and it is turning to campers all paved roads and pads. Prices go up every year to go out and catch small starved fish.

Thanks, not what I was hoping to hear. Still must be be nice for the folks of Fremont to slip away for a few hours to fish regardless.

The fremont lakes have some very good fishing if you know how to fish them and put in the time to learn them as with any other body of water. Problem is, people go once, have a bad outing, and deem it as bad fishing or mismanagement when it isn't either one. It's the fisherman themselves. I myself, as well as other fishing buddies are having our best year out there in a long time.
