Onamia area help
« on: Jan 17, 2012, 09:33 PM »
Was hoping I could get some tips and general locations on some fishing in the Onamia area. I will be traveling out that way late February to my moms home town and the family plans to do some fishing out there. Could really use some info.
Thanks,
Jay

Since you will be right near Mille Lacs lake, you could hardly go wrong there. Try getting in touch with Eddie Lyback at Lyback's Resort. If I'm not mistaken, I think Eddie is the president of the Mille Lacs Resort A'ssn! Anyway I happen to know him personally and will vouch for the fact that he is a real stand-up guy and all around good egg! Good luck and have a blast! ;DDIRTBALL2 ;)

Yeah, Onamia has Mille Lacs in the back yard.... That's even closer than me.

shalopee lake is good for panfish and northerns.  Black Bass is also good if you want to walk and not use any gas auger.
