Any Aqua-Vu Scout XL owners?
« on: Dec 28, 2011, 05:50 AM »
Was wondering who owns a Aqua-Vu Scout XL camera?   Was wondering if it is a good camera or not?  I hope it is a good camera, I just bought a brand new one for $175.

You did good. I love a camera over a flasher for the simple reason I fish shallow. 4 to 8 feet. I will tip the camera upside down ,so it is looking up ,and you wont believe how much more you can see because of the light. Or tipped up to one side. Try different ways ,buy the clarity of the water. They work great.  Jerry

It is a good unit for shallow water or a little deeper if its clear . but does not work at all in deep or stained water. if I'm fishing weeds i won't be without it

Wow good price on that. I've had a Scout 2 for a few years and it's been a good camera. Great during the day, fun to watch the fish move in and out but you might as well pack it away when the sun drops, without the bright sunlight they're nearly worthless. The lights on them don't carry far and mostly just bounces off of all the particles in the water - like using high beams in a snow storm.

They are a lot of fun, enjoy the purchase.
