Marcum ?
« on: Dec 25, 2011, 03:10 PM »
I got a gift card form Mrs. Claus and was thinking about getting a Marcum Showdown Ice Troller. Brand new to using electronics for fishing, and ice fishing for that matter, I like the idea of the hand held. What to guys think/recommend? Thanks!

They work good as long as you don't fish deeper than 120FOW. A lot of my fishing is 140-160FOW in my local lake. I would own one if they went to 200FOW.

Once you spend the $ for the troller and the pro pack for it (battery, case, ect)...if you can,  spend the little bit more for the dual beam Showdown.

I just bought the single beam for $300 shipped.  I have no need for the duel beam because I only fish under 30 FOW.

BC: How are you? Hope you had a great Christmas.
A couple small ponds/lakes froze last night -again! Otsego is a long way off, if at all. Usually doesn't freeze until Jan 21st average, 17th last year. I am ready to get my boat back out of storage and go jig some up! Want to go?

Hey jim!

I was thinking of doing the same thing this weekend (might get the rowboat out on the reservoir-the lakers should be hungry after spawning), hope all is well-talk to you soon

I just got the showdown duel beam and cant wait to use it. The demo makes it look real easy to use I guess I'll find out.

showdown is very easy to use.  the troller is nice but like said if you want to go extravagant as a pack and battery you should just buy a x67c for 250 on reeds.
