Arctic Armor Bibs
« on: Dec 16, 2011, 09:51 AM »
Looking at purchasing just the bibs, mainly for ice fishing.

I see there is black, green, red, and camo.  Are they all the same exact bibs just different colors or are there differences in them other than slight differences in price??  It seems that the camo might be specifically for duck hunting and not ice fishing...is this the case??  I can't find a real good comparison between them.

If there are indeed differences, which are setup the best for ice fishing?  When it comes down to it I could care less what color I get as long as I get the ones that are best for ice fishing!!

Some have a Tricot lining which will kind of grab your jeans when you pull them on. I think the Camo bibs have this. It has been three years since I bought mine, but I think the Arctic Armor plus are the ones with this lining. The others have a lining that is smooth and easier to pull on. I also seem to remember some complaints about the camo material holding a bit of water if it gets wet. I have the red and black with no complaints at all.

I may go with the red ones.  I mainly just want a pair that doesn't soak in water when I kneel down.  I currently use either just ski pants if it's warm or carhartt insulated, which are awesome as long as they don't get wet.

I have the green/black and all black bibs. Both are well made but I like the black ones better. The green/black ones are to warm for me!

The padded knees on them are a nice feature for old coots like me.

I've got the red n black ones. The knee pads are very nice, but I do get a damp right knee. Not very happy about it considering the price of em and I just got them this year and only wore them 6 times this year. You might wanna check out the striker suits, same price and from what I've heard better than arctic armor

I've got the camo.  No issues at all.  Material is "soft" on the camo ones.  Very nice for hunting.  I would buy the colored bibs in a heartbeat.  Very comfortable and warm.
