Nice set ups Bee.  As soon as I get back home from this patrol I'll have 10 days off before I have to go back to work.  I'll be trying to get all my projects finished that I started on before I left.  The wood stove, the washing machine bait tank,  and My auger rack for my Sled.

Question did you pad the rack?? and also did you make some sort of latch or tie down to keep the auger from falling/bouncing out when traveling???

You have a lot of ingenuity building a auger rack for a snowmobile.

Bee , you have to be one of the handiest dandiest men to have around the house....is there anything you can't build? ;D

If you ever get bored, I'd love one of those auger holders for my sled. ;)

Very cool. And that looks like a brand new Nils Auger? I could not find one last year so bought a Jiffy. You'll have to keep us posted how you like the Nils.

Nice looking set up. I have been looking to do something like that too with my auger. Just never had the ingenuity to get it together. I guess it would really suck to hit something and go over the handle bars and hit the auger!  ;D

It's true, Bee could profit all-day from his ingenuity. He could build custom racks, bob houses, Vexilar and ShowDown accessories...the list goes on. @)

Nice equipment.  You asked for an ice prediction so here's mine.  Overnight lows in the 20s are forecast for the next severalnights.  I have one small pond near here that always freezes early and half of that pond is only 4 feet deep,  so breaking through the ice is not a huge distaster.  I expect to be on that pond catching perch and brook trout before December 6th. I'll keep you posted.

Now you know why I am not a TV meteorologist.  It's not only because I'm camera shy.  I looked at that pond yesterday.  There was a thin skin of ice but with yesterday's high of 48, the overnight low of 40 and today's rain,   that ice is probably melted now.  If I had made a hole in that thin ice and dropped in a line from shore,  would it be considered ice fishing?  It wouldn't be naturally free of ice.

I also believe there is some verbiage regarding standing on land and fishing through the hole.  I think it is a No, No......

Maybe by Christmas Wayne. Looks like you got everything you need ready so when it get there you don't have to waste time dusting the equipment off or fixing what broke over the non ice days.

Bee
I have a question about the mount that you have on the snowmobile, what do you attach to in the engine compartment? Engine mount? I hope you don't mind I am going to steal this idea. I have a similar mount on the 4 wheeler and wanted to do something like it for the snowmobile and just did not have the idea, now I have it, thanks.

In my engine bay the frame has holes. i went through those with a tube. I made some metal plate and riveted to the frame. i then welded the plate to the tube. The outer brackets are inserted into that tube and bolted. that makes them removable.
