« on: Nov 09, 2011, 09:01 AM »
Anybody here in Ak have one? been reading lots of good things about the x67 down south
curious if anybody up here is using them. Was thinking pretty hard on the Vexilar FL20, but the x67
sounds pretty good as well.Price is decent as too. thxs

I can't speak for up there, but my friend uses one and loves it.  Probably not been used in sub zero temps so I can't speak for that part of it.

Spawner,
Yes I own one.  I can tell you that the whole doom and gloom concerning the ice machine freezing up is bunk!  I have worked it in 15- temps without a hitch and I'm totally happy with it!  If you own a small watercraft, it serves as a multifunctional unit as well.  Since you can use it as a graph and a flasher, it's multi-purpose.  I don't want to get into "which" units are better, (the whole ice fishing Ford vs. Chevy vs. Dodge debate here.)  I can tell you that I use it in graph mode with ultra small marmoska jigs and pick up fish in real time and very quickly!!!!!!  I love the graph setting because I'm not much of a flasher guy...  I like to see the history behind the fish as well and since you have several seconds to respond to fish cruising the depths, this is an added bonus.  PLUS if you have kids, (like my two boys) they love to watch the screen and keep the interest in fishing much longer since it's even kid proof eh!  My unit has the GPS too, but I have rarely use it other than to mark where I "had" the shanty or had success with tip-ups etc...  THe map isn't updated for AK yet.  I think you'll be happy with your purchase. ;)

Barleydog,
thxs for the info, using the lcd unit in colder temps was my main concern, it sounds like
a solid machine. Watched a couple of videos on youtube, the graph does look pretty cool.
For 250$ it seems like a  good deal.

Yes sir My's should be on my doorstep when I get home today ;D
I've been looking at all the flasher's out there for 2 years now and Finally saved up enough to get one.
They are going fast at reeds which has the best price.
Now we need some ice but sat I'm going to try it off the boat to get the feel of it and yes I'm going to jig with my ice rods.

I own the m68c and the lcd screen will start to get sluggish at -20 degrees outside. As long as you are in a heated shanty you should have nothing to worry about though. These are some great little units !!!

250 new? Is it the ice machine or just the 67c and you have to buy the other transducer and bag etc.
As for machine I'm not a flasher guy either. You'll reallylike it  after you have played around with it and get it tuned in the way you like it.  ;D

I was looking at Cabelas, I now see it is just called 67c 249$
Reeds sporting goods has the 67c ice machine for 249$ as well.
Was kind of hoping to go thru Cabelas with my gift cards. A buddy
of mine is pushing me towards Marcums lx5, but I'm really
liking the x67.

Spawner your fishing outside in 15 to 30 below, or using at least a pop up shack?  9 degrees today and I was out harassing whitefish with it without a problem.  Couldn't have caught a single fish if I didn't have my Lowrance since the aquaview broke down...

Yes i do have a pop up, seems like i catch myself being outside of it more than inside.
I did order the x67 a couple of days ago, startin to get pretty excited.

I got it ;D
I took it to a dock and I like it. I didn't mark or catch any fish but I can see my micro jig just fine.
Only complaint is the nuts and bolts are plastic ? I replaced them with metal ones.

I've used mine at minus 20 with no shack or pop up and the screen works just fine with no "slowdown" in real time at all.
