Shappell 6000
« on: Oct 24, 2011, 12:02 PM »
Bought one in June on clearance. Just set it up in the back yard yesterday and I think it will work great. This is my first shelter of any type. Just wondering if anyone has used one of these. Any info would be helpful.

Thanks for the replies. The photo explains what the strings are for. It came with 4 screw in anchors that appear to anchor the 4 corners. Are the strings going to anchors also? I think I'm going to love this unit as will my fishing buddies (grandchildren). It looks much nicer on the lake than it did in my back yard. Thanks again for the response.

I bought extra anchors with 2 ropes for the windy days I anchor the sides facing the wind for extra measure.

Also I use a cordles drill with a 1/4 inch bit to pre-drill the anchor holes in the ice. It saves sooooo much time.

I have had mine for about 3 seasons now...works great!

Just as adkRoy mentions...use a drill with your anchors...this will speed up the process and is a lot easier than manually drilling them in by hand.

Good luck with your purchase.
