Nils Master augers are garbage!

i have a 8" nils hand auger. i bought it especially because i heard such good things about them and my shoulders are full of arthritis which makes it difficult to cut holes and i thought that would be the answer. wrong-----i am very disappointed in the hand auger it certainly doesnt cut like butter as i was told. so i need to find a power head for it now somewhere.

Either you have a damaged cutting head or a possible case of user error !
 Obviously, an 8" Nils doesn't cut as easy as a 4'5" Nils but it's still easier than anything else on ther market.
   Some people can't get the hang of using both hands to spin the auger and this will make it tougher to cut holes.     Some people try to force the auger through the ice (because they've been using inferior augers for years and had to) when all you have to do with the Nils is to let the weight of the auger do the work..
  The only other reason could be that you expected the auger to cut like a laser beam through butter and all by itself !

Buy a 4.5" and it will be easier

I fish on Erie with a nils 6" ive been drillin through shoves 3' thick better than the guys with big loud gas augers that never heard of sharpening the blades!! and they are only cuttin through 12 inches!! nils 4 life folks!! learn how to use it right and theres nothin better my opinion.. UNLESS SOMEBODY ELSE IS DRILLIN ME 10 HOLES!! GO RIGHT AHEAD THANKS...

 Thanks raate I checked their website but couldnt get to the store page. maybe i will call tomorrow. I am hoping to find either a 6 or 8 inch.

After buying my piece of  GARBAGE a few weeks ago , I will never buy another auger again !!!
