The only pics I see are the ones wallin posted. Where is the walleye and muskee???they mysteriously vanished...lol
Nice fish by the way, but why would you post on a "Fished The Kankakee" thread that you caught some fish somewhere else. Nice catch, thanks for the pics.Joe
Young JR,you've made your bed. Now you have to lay in it.
Had heard these are Tiger Muskies and are coming into the Dam from the Wabash, acording to a friend at the Club there.
Im going to go out on a limb and trow some simple biology and guesswork together for this one.Not Tigers, just barred phase muskie. If there was one i didnt see it caught and i can guarantee it was never recorded. Ive been there when 4 were caught, counting mine, and i have an idea that some were repeat offenders as most all have been released. If i could have at least got a measurement of mine i would have got a glass mount done. I would never have kept it regardless of weight or length. It was just to cool to have gotten 1 there. We have a large percentage of Trophy release at JTCC, so its not far fetched to see the same boys and girls yearly since the 08 flood. Having come through the dam in the past they will return to it to spawn. After spawn they will likely drop back in the Tippe to some large hole and live the happy lazy life with few larger predators around. Or they might hang who knows, i just know i see the most caught in March during their spawn. Wabash? meh, i dont know. The Zebra mussels have the Tippe running fairly clear, im not sure they would choose the Bash (course they may love it to death *shrugs*) over the Tippe, but yea, the general idea is the same. They are coming back up from downriver during spawn, just not with the Wabash as a point of origin. What ones the dam has spit out and havent been kept will do what they do. Spawn, go down river where competition is less and come up to spawn. Repeat. So IMO. They arent just returning, they are returning to where they came from. Does that make sense? Tippe Pike. Ive seen less of these than muskie. Oddly enough. Not exactly what you would expect to see on the Tippe. (Image removed from quote.)Pics of some of last years muskie are here. http://www.jtcconline.com/photos.htmNow, just so i dont join the hijacking of your thread i will say this. Why does this matter to the Kank? Because im at least an hour south of where i fish up there here on the Tippe. If they made it this far down they are surely up there. Ive caught northern up there as well.Kank pike.(Image removed from quote.)Now. Thats pics. Where. I was using bait. (Image removed from quote.)
