Buel Monday
« on: Jan 29, 2011, 04:35 PM »
Going to Buel this comming Monday.  Anyone interested in going?  Going to have the aqua view with me so if someone who owns a flasher would like to join it could be a very productive session.  Last time I was there the jumbos were eating although the conditions were not angler friendly.

Monday was decent but cold.  Two trout one brown, one rainbow both a healthy 18 inches.  Both were oddly suspended in 18' of water and ate medium shiners.  Perch jigging was off but managed three over 12" which perch wise is acceptable.  Ice conditions were not to bad.  8-12" snow on top some areas of slush.  Some areas where you wpuld break through all the crap to slush.  Almost feels like going through for real for a second.  Thank you snowmobile guys walking in your tracks saves me from really having to bust my arse to walk to the back!

sounds like a decent day at buel. that is one of my favorite lakes but unfortunately, a squad of about 30 russian speaking people rape the fish population, keeping everything they catch.

I've become quite a fan of the place.  Did see the russians before, so I go weekdays when they usually are not there.

Sounds similar to what I did on Saturday. I did take trout on power eggs fished 6 feet below the ice, and one on a jig at 18feet. Perch seemed pretty inactive.
