« on: Dec 31, 2010, 08:44 PM »
Hi
I need some first hand information on the New clam pro 1 man ice shelter. Has anyone had the opportunity to try one of these units out and what were were some of the likes or  dislikes if any based on personal experience
            Thanks   John

Check the Clam Sponsor Forum. Plenty of info there. I have a Pro TC. Bolts were bad. Wouldn't go any smaller IMHO and I may sell it and get a Nanook next season.

The charm of fishing is that it is the pursuit of what is elusive but attainable, a perpetual series of occasions for hope.

Bought the Clam Nanook late last ice fishing season. It's great for both 1 person & 2, but doesn't weigh a ton like others.  For usage as a 1-man, it gives me plenty of room and some nice "elbow-space'.  For 2 guys, it's a nice setup also.  We're not like sardines in it, but has adequate room for multi-rod fishing for 2 guys and plenty of room for a vex, camera & heater.

I have one of the older fish trap pro and I really like it. Plenty of room of me and one of the kids; I just take the seat out and replace it with a cooler. I was going to build a bench seat for it; but I picked up another kid so I'm moving to a hub style for the group outings.

After comparing mine to some of the newer Clams, I think I would take a hard look at a Frabril or a Shappell one man.

the more I ice fish and research and see weights of some of the 2 man+ options out there, I feel like I"m going to sell my FT Pro. I like it, but its so much better fishing in my 2-3 man eskimo. I think there are some light 2 man options out there that are easy to pull and way more roomy than a FT. Plus the FT sled pulls like a bathtub.
