Had no luck at all in jigging Browns! Rainbows are a better fish to jig for, they tend to swim in shallower water and ride higher up. To be a consistent Brown trout catcher a flasher is really needed so you can see where the fish are since Browns prefer deeper water. All my Browns have been on shiners and worms on tip ups. But for lures I would use spoons in the 1/8 - 1/4 range like crippled herrings, kastmasters and so on. I would take the treble hook off and put a single siwash hook on so I could dress it up with some meat. Good luck let me know if you catch a Brown jigging.

Glow jigging spoon and a waxworm (1/8 oz.).  Got 2 of 'em Friday morning - both 21".  Electronics are key; they can come through the water column at any depth, you gotta put the bait in their face.  These both came through at 45' over 63'.  I rarely target browns per se, but anything that comes through at mid-depths gets a lure presented to them.

I've caught some nice stocked browns, my best lure is a blue / silver Jig rap with the bottom hook removed.

Put a Hali chain or dropper where the belly hook used to be to a tear drop jig.

Waxies work the best on this rig.
