depends on were you go some spots got lots of slop others just alot of powder but once you drill a whole you end up with 3 inches of water on the ice no matter were you go

i was really surprised how little snow is on my little spot....there was 14-16" this w/e with slop and water....not today...
couple inches of snow and hard below that.....mind you i was walking on it and not drilling today....I was amazed how that quick COLD SNAP
firmed it up....

i tried to get to my shanty from the park and couldn't make it more than about 300 yards from the launch. lots of water and slush under i light crust when you get out a ways, thats with chains on all 4 tires.

Bomo is the same. Where i fished last weekend sloppy in 1 spot, fine in another. Today in the same spot fine every where I had jacks in the samespots as last weekend but go 50 yards north & same slop as last week.
A bad day of fishing is still better than a good day at work

for some odd reason most of the slop around my shanty stiffened up last night. about 4 inches of snow on top now. just shy of 16 inches of ice under my shanty, but 100 yards out from it there is about 6. from 6:30 till 10:30 i caught 5 dink pike and 1 real nice perch, set up for trout in the 15'-25' water range
