I ran into an ice fisherman coming off the ice by the beach at Loomis. I was excited to see him as he had a bucket with gear and a manual auger over his shoulder. I asked how the ice was and he said to look at him carefully. He was wet up just below his nipple line. He said he walked out ok but apparently found a soft spot and went in luckily only up to his nips. Anyway, it changed my plans for the evening. I think the ice is just to iffy.
I took a bike ride tonight from my office. I usually go thru the park where Loomis is. I was planning to go ice fishing after riding my bike until I ran into an ice fisherman coming off the ice by the beach at Loomis. I was excited to see him as he had a bucket with gear and a manual auger over his shoulder. I asked how the ice was and he said to look at him carefully. He was wet up just below his nipple line. Thanks for all the info this year and if the ice is gonna get soft, I just kinda wish it would all go away by tomorrow morning. Time for coho!
