Clam 2000 Shanty Question
« on: Jan 03, 2011, 01:12 PM »
Hey guys.  I just recently bought a clam 2000 shanty.  I have brought it out on 3 trips so far and each time I end up getting blown down the lake.  I have looked into buying anchors for it, but I am confused as to where I would put the anchors.  Has anyone else had this problem?

There was a tread about this ... some said they drilled holes in the floor in each corner, others put them in the corners of the pre-cut out fishing holes ....

MMB had a great solution a few years ago.  As long as the Design hasn't changed too much.

Tip save your money!

All I do it take a piece of wood longer than your auger hole.
Drill a hole in the middle of it and run the shanty’s tow rope thru it and loop around.

Put the back of the shanty to the wind drill a hole in the ice and put the block of wood down the hole.
This will anchor your shanty, it will also aid in pulling the sled.

The only prob with this is you do have to get your hand wet but a small price to pay.
