Sight fishing

how many holes do you guys drill for sight fishing? i found that drilling 2 holes like this O and fishing in the top hole and looking through the bottom hole is easier on the back.                                                                                   O

got a buddy that showed me that a few years ago. works pretty good but sometimes it gets a lil crowded in the shack with 4 holes drilled in the ice.
