How much ice do you need for it to be considered safe?

hey man, noticed uve been doing alot of posting the past couple days. if you use the search option at the top nearly any question u have can be answered. there are years of great information logged in the archives that u can dig through and learn everything u need to know. but with that being said. i wouldnt want any less than 3 inches of clear ice, and with white ice u need to double it to be safe.

you can look up an "ice thickness safety chart" as a beginning refrence. Always remeber that there are many variables to ice being unsafe so always fish w/ a buddy. around 4" is a good start if the ice is clear.
