does anyone ever make a campfire while out on the ice? I'm not sure if its legal here in MN but i have started noticing half burnt wood piles more and more lately..

It's only legal if you clean up ALL the burnt wood and crap you left. Anything left that ends up in the water is considered littering/contaminating a waterway and is subject to a misdemeanor ticket.

lots of those piles will be from people who use wood burning stoves in their portable shelters.  after they are done for the day they dump the stove contents on the ice so they can pack up the shack.  common practice here in sask when it gets real cold

We drag half barrelsd out on the ice and leave them. For everyone to keeP the mess down. Lots of kite boarders seem to take them over though
